I think 2014 may become known as the year when Bangor tore itself up and put itself back together for the future of the next two or three generations.
This is the West Market Sq project, at last night’s Infrastructure Committee meeting we reviewed the project to replace the Union Street bridge overpass– 19,000 cars per day pass on it, 25,000 cars per day pass under it– as well as going over the plans to make nearly $2 million in improvements to Main Street from Buck Street to Cedar Street.
In the coming weeks we will be going over the Cross Center Traffic management issues and the Broadway traffic corridor from Glenburn to the Interstate– which has 20,000 cars per day pass on it. More demolition and construction is also planned in the West Side village redevelopment effort and in numerous other smaller projects that will come along during the year,” said Joe Baldacci, Bangor City Councilor.
